Pastor Phillip U. Daniels III
Pastor Daniels was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland to the parents of Phillip II and Brenette Daniels. He currently resides in the Randallstown area of Baltimore County and lives with his wife (married June 3, 1995), the former Valerie D. Birdsong. The Daniels have two children, Victoria Elizabeth, and Phillip IV (P4).
Pastor Daniels has also served in the Maryland Army National Guard and United States Army Reserves from 1985 to 1997 and has been employed with the Federal Government, in Washington D.C. since July 13, 1987, where he currently serves as a Unit Chief and as his division's Employees Assistance Program Coordinator. Pastor Daniels also volunteers his time teaching a bi-weekly bible study on Thursdays. Pastor Daniels accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, in May of 1990, and on Sunday, November 25th of that same year, he joined the Good Shepherd Church C.O.G.I.C., where the Pastor is Superintendent Tony W. Torain, J.D. On February 24, 1996, He was ordained a Deacon, and on December 3, 2000, he gave his initial sermon and received his minister's license. Pastor Daniels was ordained on August 8, 2006.
He was the Minister of Outreach at Good Shepherd, and oversaw a number of outreach ministries. In addition, Pastor Daniels was a member of Good Shepherd's church council, a trustee, taught the Adult Sunday School class, and is an active member of the Greater Maryland First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Pastors and Elders Council and its Evangelism Department. In 2008, Elder Daniels was appointed by Superintendent Torain as the chairperson of the Bishop Frank J. Ellis Memorial District Evangelism Department. Pastor Daniels was also recently appointed by Jurisdictional Bishop Joel H. Lyles, Jr., to serve as the Secretary of the Greater Maryland First Eccessiastical Ordination Board.
In March of 2001, during a Sunday morning worship service at Good Shepherd, then Minister Daniels, heard the voice of the Lord say, "There are sheep in need of a shepherd." After much prayer, contemplation and counsel on what the Lord had spoken, Pastor and First Lady Daniels stepped out on faith to begin Agape Ministries C.O.G.I.C. in Westminster, Maryland. The doors of the church opened on January 4, 2009. It is their vision and goal to develop this church into a strong outreach and evangelistic ministry that will be a blessing to the people of Westminster.
First Lady Valerie D. Daniels, R.N., B.S.N.
Lady Valerie Dineen Daniels, formerly Birdsong, was born and raised in Hartford, CT to the parents of John and Bernice Birdsong and graduated from Farmington High School. Lady Daniels also served as an Army National Guardsman and Reservist. She graduated from the Community College of Baltimore in 1995 with her Associates in Science degree in Nursing and received her BSN at Coppin State University Helene Fuld School of Nursing in May 2010, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was inducted into the Mary Mahoney National Nursing Honor Society and a recipient of the highest academic achievement award for the R.N to B.S.N. class of 2010. In 2008, Lady Daniels also completed her Deaconess Missionary courses at the Charles Harrison Mason Bible School in the Greater Maryland First Ecclessiastcal Jurisdiction and she received her license on March 19, 2011. Lady Daniels is also the leader of the Bishop Frank J. Ellis Memorial District's Wellness Ministry and manages Agape's Feed My Sheep Food Pantry.
