You Are Forgiven

Micah 7:15-20

The bible says in, II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  It is with this assurance in the Word of God that we who are in Christ, are made into a new creation that belong to God totally and ruled by the Holy Ghost.  No longer ruled or enslaved by the world’s standards or acceptable life styles but have been changed spiritually with that change being demonstrated in our daily lives.  I don’t know about you, but I know that now I am not the person I was before I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.  The Lord had Bill Gaither write a song that says:

Shackled by a heavy burden,
'Neath a load of guilt and shame.
Then the hand of Jesus touched me,
And now I am no longer the same.

He touched me, Oh He touched me,
And oh the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened and now I know,
He touched me and made me whole.

Since I met this blessed Savior,
Since He cleansed and made me whole,
I will never cease to praise Him,
I'll shout it while eternity rolls.

He touched me, Oh He touched me,
And oh the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened and now I know
He touched me and made me whole.

Anybody been touched by the Lord?  He reached down from His heavenly precipice and pulled me and you out of the muck and mire of our sins.  He picked me up and turned me around, placed my feet on solid ground.  He cleansed me with his redeeming blood and washed me white as snow.  I may not be what I’m supposed to be but no longer am I the person I used to be because I’m that new creation that God is using for his glory and name sake, because I am forgiven!  I’m forgive of my faults, I’m forgiven of my past failures, I’m forgiven of my sins!  I have been moved from being at enmity with God to being a friend of God, a new creature because I am forgiven!  Is anybody excited that they are a new creature?

Now despite being a new creation in Jesus Christ, everyone is not going to believe that you are the new creature that God says that you are and that you claim to be.  There’s going to be some skeptics, who will question your sincerity in Christ.  There are going to be some detractors who will refute your claim of being newly created.  They are even going to be haters, drinking their haterade, who will out right refuse to believe that God has done this thing in your life.  They all knew what you were like before you came to know Jesus Christ!  They knew you as the good time girl, always the life of the party; they called your number to have good time.  They knew you as the no good thug that you used to be, hustling and jiving and gang banging!  They knew you as the insecure person, sacred of your own shadow, jelly back and weak!   They knew you as the good for nothing black sheep of the family, an embarrassment to your family name!  But after a little while, as God have taken you into His loving and caring hands, and he’s molded you into something new, even your detractors, and skeptics, and haters will even have to admit the change they see in you!  The good time girl is now the Titus 2 woman, in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.   The no good thug is now the holy man of God, having fled youthful lusts: but following in righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  The insecure person is now more than conquerors through him that loved them. For he/she is persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  The black sheep of the family is now the Jabez of the family, who was more honorable than his brethren, who God had bless and enlarged his coast, and God’s hand is with him, keeping him from evil, that it may not grieve him!

Now I want you to understand that part of your detractors, skeptics and haters’ job is to remind you of what you used to be and what you used to do and hold it over your head!  It’s their desire and purpose to go through your spiritual trash can and reintroduce you to the spiritual trash you left behind.  Your haters are like rats and raccoons!  Rats and raccoons dig through trash cans!  Dirty nasty animals that are carriers of disease.  Your haters are full of spiritual rabies and spiritual black plague and if you are not careful and prayerful, you’ll come down with a spiritual sickness because the haters have come in and brought infection to your life.  But don’t you let anyone hold your past against you.  Go ahead and let them knock over and rummage through your spiritual trash can.  But you better remain stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Because you are forgiven!

According to the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt, God’s going to show your detractors marvelous things through His work in you.  Your Egypt was the captivity of sin that you were in and now that God has brought you out, no what your are forgiven, set free and delivered, God is going to be a wonder in your life and it will confound your haters,  your skeptics will look in awe at the great things that God has done for you.  Your detractors will be intimidated by the power of God operating in you and will be afraid of the Lord our God and will fear you.  And you will have an assurance and confidence in God to know that you are no longer held accountable for the sins of the past because you’ve been washed by the blood of the lamb and walk in God’s forgiveness because He has pardoned your iniquity and passed by your transgression.  He retains not his anger forever, because he delights in extending you mercy (unmerited favor).  He had compassion on you and subdued your iniquities and your sins have been cast into the depths of the sea of his forgetfulness.  Because you are forgiven!

Let go of the sins of your past and forgive yourself!
